Conditions Treated

Patella Tracking Dysfunction (Runner's Knee)

This is the most commonly occurring knee problem. It is usually caused by muscle imbalances from running or aerobic activity. It presents as a localized pain on the area of the knee cap, which is often accompanied by popping, clicking or grinding noises as the patient walks or runs. It is often aggravated by everyday activities, kneessuch as walking, cycling or other aerobic activity.

Treatment Plan

Treatment initially consists of reducing pain and inflammation. This is then followed by correction of the muscle imbalances of the knees, pelvis and feet. Imbalances are corrected through specific stretching and strengthening exercises. We advise our patient how to correct their posture in order to prevent further injury when running, cycling or participating in other exercises.

About Knees, Shin, and Calf Pain

The condition above is a commonly treated problem resulting from pelvic imbalances which have led to an inordinate amount of stress on the legs, and consequent serious injuries; these types of injuries are usually best treated with an effective regimen of chiropractic care.
